These posters were created to be displayed in a situation similar to this one. There are a lot of graphs, charts, data visualization in many of these.
I set the font large enough to be easily readable at 3 to 4 feet. Most of these were 4×4 but sometime 4×6 or 3×3. The symposium would tell us the maximum space their board would hold and I would use every inch. You can see that I tried to chunk the content such that the reader would not have to strain or step to read from one end to the other.
